Our unique cycling tour is run in collaboration with Dutch journalist and fanatic cyclist Jack Leenaars. Inspired by his years of experience on Delhi roads he came up with the concept of organizing guided bicycle tours in the old city. Proven to be incredibly popular in other cities around the world such as Bangkok, Paris, San Francisco and Beijing, the concept is proving to be very successful through the historic area of Mehrauli in India’s capital. Mehrauli is one of the seven ancient cities of Delhi. This region is arguably where Delhi first began and today Mehrauli is considered an area of great archaeological and architectural importance with Qutb Minar as its most visible and enduring symbols. The towering presence of Qutb Minar has overshadowed some smaller but equally magnificent monuments in the area. Most people remain unaware of the rich heritage of the area or do not explore it because of the lack of resources and accessibility. Exploring Mehrauli by bicycle offers more discerning visitors and locals the chance to experience these glorious structures. The three-hour guided tour takes you through the winding lanes of Mehrauli to 10 historically significant sites. It aims to go beyond the beaten track, providing a slice of history often overlooked by other tour operators and guidebooks. Your guide/driver will take you to New Delhi Railway Station at 7am where your the tour begins.
