This half-day tour takes in Pondicherry by bicycle. From the hotel first explore the beautiful French quarter with your guide. This beautiful area has kept its colonial charm, with wonderful colonial villas and narrow streets. While there you might want to visit the Sri Aurobindo Ashram, one of the best-known ashrams in India. You will also visit Manakula Vinayagar Temple. From there cycle across a canal, the dividing line between the old French and Indian towns, to meander through the streets to appreciate the traditional Tamil houses and the beautiful grand bazaar. The next destination is Pondicherry Railway Station that sits next to the magnificent Sacred Heart Church. From the church the cycling tour proceeds towards the scenic promenade, and from here slowly cycle back to the hotel. This tour is designed for the more active, but as Pondicherry is nice and flat, it’s an easy cycle. It’s a great way of taking a lot of Pondicherry in.
