Carnoustie is a spoiling 30-suite hotel that sprawls along Marari Beach. It provides luxury in a beautiful area with limited accommodation options, less than 2 hours from Cochin’s International Airport. The suites are dotted through its 24 acres of mature gardens so that each villa feels very private and secluded; expect huge floor to ceiling windows, indulgent king-size beds, marble or polished wood floors and huge lavish bathrooms. Each suite is different and some even have private pools. The main restaurant, Ida, is made out of oversized bamboo imported from Indonesia and is spectacular; this serves Indian and Continental cuisine. There’s also a separate seafood restaurant serving local specialities. The spa is a real highlight of this property and is arguably one of the most impressive options in Kerala. There’s also deep-sea fishing available and free use of bicycles. We feel this is one of the best beach options on Kerala’s Malabar Coast and is ideal for those wishing to indulge at the beginning or end of a trip.
