Located just 2km north of the city center, Laxmi Niwas Palace is part of a Royal Palace that dates back to 1902. Its pink sandstone exterior, carved stonework, sprawling lawns and regal interiors reflect its history, although some may find the decor slightly chintzy and dated.  The property boasts several restaurants, a spa, a pool and even a billiards rooms. There are four different types of room: Royal Deluxe, The Palace Rooms, Historical Suites, and Royal Suites.  The Royal Deluxe and Palace Rooms are simple and comfortable, while the Historical Suites and Royal Suites are a little more extravagant. Think antique brass beds, empire style furniture, painted walls, and gilt embossed gold panelling. The Historical Suite even has a ceiling made of teak.   We feel that despite being a little tired this is one of the better options in Bikaner.
