Malabar House is a colourful, contemporary and sophisticated boutique hotel situated on a peaceful green in Fort Cochin. The hotel was once a colonial mansion, and the historic remnants work in perfect harmony with the bright yellows and blues that decorate the 18th century building. The pretty central courtyard is the hub of the hotel, with a small pool and an open-sided dining room, fragranced by sweet frangipani trees. There’s also a chic and sophisticated wine bar, offering an extensive wine menu, perfect for pre or post dinner drinks. Malabar Junction is the hotel’s signature restaurant, which attracts outside guests, testament to its fine quality and cosy atmosphere. Even if you don’t stay at Malabar House, we highly recommend eating here.
Rooms
The 17 rooms all vary in size and style and are made up of 11 deluxe rooms, 5 Roof Garden Suites, and The Malabar Suite. All are beautifully adorned with tiled floors, objects d’art, air-conditioning, en-suite bathrooms, and fantastic wooden furniture. The Deluxe Rooms are beautiful, spacious and can be found on the ground floor. The Roof Garden Suites are larger with private terraces and can be found on the first floor. The Malabar Suite is a larger maisonette with a sitting room downstairs and a bedroom upstairs.
