Tucked away approximately one hour from Munnar is Talayar Valley Bungalow, a heavenly colonial estate bungalow that is now a beautiful four-room retreat. It is surrounded by private tropical gardens and undulating hills shrouded in tea plantations, offering the most spectacular views. All of the rooms are decorated differently but expect large comfy beds, tasteful wallpaper and luxuriant bathrooms. One of the rooms sits separately from the main building; this is more private but a little smaller. There’s a wonderful and elaborate dining area, a cigar lounge and a wonderful living room that can be freely enjoyed as well. Close to the property is a working tea factory that is open to visitors; walking down to it takes approximately 15 minutes and we feel this is a wonderful way to experience authentic plantation life. Talayar Valley Bungalow offers some of the finest rooms in the Munnar area and it’s perfect for those wishing to unwind in the hills.
Please note Talayar Valley Bungalow, like many properties in Kerala, doesn’t have a license to serve alcohol. Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to be consumed only in the rooms.
