Mararikulam, home to Marari Beach, is a small fishing village and a beach side location, just an hour south from Cochin and a mere 14km from Alleppey in the Backwaters. This is the coastline where the Arabian Sea meets the Indian Ocean; the sands are golden and fringed with coconut palms. It’s quiet, clean and a wonderful way to end your trip in Kerala, offering a more serene and laid-back environment in comparison with Kovalam further south.  Unlike Kovalam, accommodation along this stretch is fairly limited so it’s well worth booking in advance to get the best options. If you do, you’ll have the choice of small, pretty and unique properties that beautifully compliment the peaceful surroundings.
