Enjoy an evening visit to Ganga Aarti; a daily evening ritual performed at the Ghats on the banks of river Ganges. This one and a half hour ritual starts with a holy fire ceremony called Yagna. This involves offering a mixture of different herbs with clarified butter (Ghee) to the fire, while chanting prayers (mantras) in order to purify the surrounding environment. You may also like to take part in this ritual and pay your offering to the holy Ganges by floating the flowers and lamp in the river. The offering is made to the Goddess Ganga, also affectionately referred to as Maa Ganga.
