Day 1
Depart London this afternoon for flight to Chennai via Dubai.

Day 2
Today you will arrive into Chennai where you will be met by your private car and driver. You will be taken to your boutique city hotel, The Park Pod, where the remainder of your evening is at leisure.

Day 3
From Chennai you will head south to Pondicherry, stopping at the temple complex in Mahabalipuram. This is normally a 3 hour journey but allow more time for stopping. This evening you will enjoy a cookery lesson with a local family in Pondicherry. Stay in Villa Shanti, a beautiful boutique hotel in the heart of town.

Day 4
Today enjoy our Pondicherry City Tour, along with a trip to Auroville (FD).Pondicherry is the former capital of French India now a charming city full of wonderful churches, shops and boutique hotels.

Day 5
From Pondicherry you will head to Tanjore. En route you might like to visit the Brihadisvara Temple Complex, a UNESO World Heritage site in Gangaikondacholapuram along with Airavatesvara temple complex in Darasuram. Including the stops, this journey is likely to take approximately 5 hours. This afternoon enjoy a tour of Tanjore. Stay in Tanjore Hi tonight, a small, simple and stylish boutique hotel in the heart of town.

Day 6
From Tanjore continue east to Trichy, approximately a 1.5 hour journey, and enjoy a tour of Trichy taking in its wonderful working temples. Afterwards continue south into rural Tamil Nadu, to Chettinad, a unique area renowned for its mansions and unusual cuisine. This rural journey should take a further 1.5 hours. Stay in Visalam, a heritage boutique hotel with lots of character.

Day 7
Enjoy a tour of Chettinad's mansions today. This afternoon is free at leisure, we can make some recommendations of things to do, such as visiting the weavers or the local Athangudi tile makers.

Day 8
Head east to Dindigal today, specifically to Rajakkad Estate.This beautiful property is a converted wooden palace that's sits in the foothills of the Western Ghats. It's surrounded by farmland, woodland, forests and plantations so is a nature lover's paradise. Enjoy the remainder of your day completely at leisure.

Enjoy relaxing and / or exploring the beautiful area. Here are some ideas for your free time.

Day 10
From Rajakkad you will head west to Madruai today, you will pass through small colourful villages and beautiful mountain scenery before reaching the slightly flatter plains near Madurai. This afternoon you will enjoy a tour of the spectacular Meenakshi Temple before returning to your beautiful hotel, Heritage Madurai.

Day 11
Departutre transfer to Madurai Airport for flight to Chennai. On arrival at Chennai connect with your onward flight back to the UK via Dubai. There are also flight onwards to Sri Lanka, which makes a lovely combination.
