Madri Haveli is a simple and beautiful boutique hotel that dates back over 300 years. Nestled down a tiny backstreet close to Jagdish Temple, Madri Haveli is ideal for those wanting to be in the atmospheric and old part of town. There are no lake views, but what it lacks in scenery it makes up for in style; the property has been sympathetically and incredibly tastefully restored. The rooms are arguably quite simple but this allows for the historic windows, carvings and stonework to shine through. The granite floors, contemporary bathrooms, day beds, colourful windows and jewel coloured cushions are really beautiful. All rooms lead off the central courtyard, a typical haveli feature.  The restaurant sits on the rooftop and boasts wonderful views of the city and partial views of Lake Pichola. Madri Haveli is a little tricky to get to by car, but once you are there it’s easy to explore on foot. We really like the contemporary feel and its in house art gallery. A must for style seekers on a budget.
