Offering a window into rural Rajasthan, Ramathra Fort is an intimate and secluded boutique hotel ensconced within a 350-year-old fort.  Ravi and Gitanjali, who have lovingly restored the property, own and run property. It sits to the southeast of Jaipur, the southwest of Agra and a mere 80 km from Ranthambore National Park. The hotel includes six Luxury Tents and six Suites. The Suites are expansive and divine, with luxurious Indian fabrics and glorious views of the valley. The tents are not available between July and September but are large, with double beds, private bathrooms and even a writing area. All meals are included here, due to the location there’s nowhere else to eat. Food is served outdoors or inside the beautiful dining room. Activities on offer include rowboat trips on the nearby lake, bird watching, a jeep safari through the area, and even a walking tour of the nearby village. Ramathra Fort is an excellent option for those seeking a rural experience in Rajasthan, without going too far west or compromising on comfort.
