Conveniently located in between Jaipur and Udaipur, Shahpura Bagh is both an ideal stop over en route to the west of Rajasthan, as well as a majestic heritage hotel. The carefully and sympathetically decorated building dates back over a century; it was once a summer residence for the Rulers of Shahpura. This is illustrated in its elaborate architecture, private lakes and 45 acres of woodland. Nowadays it’s also home to a delightful heated swimming pool, six Royal Suites, four Deluxe Rooms, a cosy restaurant and acres of resplendent gardens. We love the warm and welcoming atmosphere, the picnics, the bird watching and the unpretentious colonial style at Shahpura. It’s a real gem.
