This half-day tour is designed for those just stopping in Agra between Delhi and Jaipur. It takes in the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort. The Taj Mahal was described by Rudyard Kipling as ‘the embodiment of all things pure’ and it is widely regarded as the most beautiful building in the world and a jewel of Muslim art in India. This magnificant mausoleum of white marble was built between 1631 and 1648 by Shah Jahan as a memorial to this third wife, Mumtaz Mahal, who died giving birth to their third child. If time permits you will visit Agra Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
