Cardamom House is nestled into a hillside just outside the village of Athoor, approximately a 45-minute drive from Dindigal. The location is glorious and off the beaten track, boasting peaceful views over Kamarajar Lake and the Western Ghats. The property is small with only seven rooms; these are simple but homely with rattan furniture, modern bathrooms and verandas looking south towards the hills. The area is a haven for wildlife so expect to see a plethora of birds and butterflies and if you’re lucky even a porcupine or a herd of barking deer. There’s a lovely cool pool for those who wish to relax and village walks for those wanting to explore. Run and owned by Dr Chris Lucas and his dedicated team, Cardamon House is a wonderful place to unwind in the middle of a trip.
